The Rising Sun Festival of Fine Arts
& Crafts 2008
More than 80 artists from around the country will be in Rising Sun, Indiana, September 13 and 14, for the first annual Rising Sun Festival of Fine Arts & Crafts.
This juried festival of exceptional fine art and fine crafts, jewelry, pottery, handcrafted furniture, and musical instruments will be held in Rising Sun’s historic Main Street District along the Ohio River.
The Festival is planned for 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturday, September 13, and Sunday, September 14. There is no admission fee and parking will be free on the streets, and in businesses and lots throughout the city.
To complement the art, the Festival features Three Indiana Wineries – Carousel Winery from Bedford, Buck Creek Winery from Indianapolis, and Thomas Family Winery from Madison – offering samples from Indiana’s excellent vineyards. Jamon Zeiler, a Rising Sun musician and master guitar-builder, has arranged for eight different acts to provide acoustic music throughout the Festival weekend. Food will be provided by Caleco Gourmet Concessions.
Rising Sun is one of Indiana’s most beautiful riverfront towns. Art Calendar magazine includes it as one of the ten best towns in America for working artists, and Rising Sun Main Street is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Festival visitors are invited to experience the unique ambiance and hospitality of Rising Sun. Enjoy the art and meet the artists while taking a leisurely stroll through the town’s flowered Main Street and scenic riverfront park.
